Job summary

Makeready LLC in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Bar Manager for Bar Sprezzatura at the Heathman Hotel. You will lead the bar team, drive beverage sales, maintain service standards, and mentor staff in a high-volume setting.

You’ll oversee beverage program development, inventory controls, cost management, and collaborate with hotel partners to ensure exceptional guest experiences and adherence to brand guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a high-volume cocktail bar, upscale restaurant, hotel bar, or fine dining environment with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and beer; strong beverage program background.
• Strong understanding of beverage cost, inventory controls, purchasing, and menu pricing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bar operations and lead the bar team.
• Develop and coach the beverage team to drive sales through thoughtful service and strategic selling.
• Collaborate with General Manager, culinary leadership, and hotel partners to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
• Maintain impeccable service standards and a welcoming guest experience.
