Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead the Food & Beverage team with style and precision. You will coach staff, ensure exceptional guest service, and uphold Four Seasons standards in a luxury setting.

This role requires knowledge of wine and spirits, strong leadership, and the ability to control costs while delivering an elegant dining experience in a bustling hotel environment.

Qualifications

• College degree in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent.
• 1-2 years as department head or 2-3 years as assistant manager in F&B.
• Working knowledge of Four Seasons standards, policies, and SOPs.
• Knowledge of food & beverage service, cost control and labor control.
• Ability to operate computer equipment and other F&B systems.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach and discipline all staff in F&B to meet standards.
• Be visible in operations, recognize performance and handle guest requests.
• Provide expert wine and spirits knowledge and ensure quality of all food and beverages.
• Collaborate with leadership to design menus and wine lists and coordinate with departments.
• Control labor and operating expenses through scheduling, budgeting and purchasing.
• Monitor facilities and equipment and recommend improvements as needed.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about hospitality and possess a keen attention to detail to join our Food & Beverage team as a Bar Manager!

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, supervisors and assistant managers in the Hotel’s Food & Beverage areas to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met, long-range strategic planning for outlet operation.
• The ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.
• Provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits and ensure quality of all food or beverage items, ingredients, and preparation methods, in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience while following and maintaining all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption.
• The ability to work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to design an effective menu and wine list while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price and attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
• Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.
• Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• College degree preferably specializing in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent experience is required.
• One to two years as department head or two to three years previous experience in an assistant manager position in Food & Beverage.
• Requires a working knowledge of division operations as well as Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job.
• Knowledge of food & beverage service, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting.
• Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems.
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
