Job summary

Tindall Corporation in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a shop helper to support the precast concrete process. You will move and prepare rebar, flat stock, and related materials, helping with cutting, punching, and loading tasks on the shop floor.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, plus the ability to lift and work with shop equipment. Training is provided, and the role offers exposure to a dynamic precast environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to move and handle steel materials with basic shop equipment.
• Comfort with lifting and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Move material from storage racks to rollers or shake-out table using overhead crane.
• Set jig to required length and prepare pieces for processing.
• Hand feed material into iron worker and assist with punching/ shearing tasks.
• Stack and label materials for different jobs and pours.
• Assist in unloading incoming trucks and keeping the work area clean.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor.

Summary of Primary Functions:

Place different types of rebar, flat stock, angle, wire mesh, coil rod, and channel on rollers and cut them to the prescribed lengths and/or punch holes in them as required by shop card. Assist in unloading incoming trucks of material for steel shop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Move material from storage racks to rollers or shake-out table with overhead (bridge) crane.

• Set jig to required length.

• Hand feed material into iron worker.

• Shear and/or punch holes in flat stock, angle, wire mesh, coil rod, and rebar.

• Stack material on pallets or material buggy (cart) for different jobs or pours and mark accordingly.

• Assist in unloading incoming trucks of material for steel shop.

• Clean and keep safe work area including sweeping floor, dispose of scrap metal.

• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
