Job summary

Loews Arlington Hotel is seeking a bar-minded Bartender to craft cocktails and beverages with precision, delivering warm, engaging service in a fast-paced hotel bar environment.

You will mix drinks, greet guests, and collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure memorable experiences while maintaining bar cleanliness and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of food & beverage or bartending experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and bar equipment.
  • Ability to obtain or possess state/local alcohol service certification (TIPS or similar).
  • Strong guest service skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks.
  • Create and recommend unique cocktails tailored to guest tastes.
  • Ensure drinks meet quality and presentation standards.
  • Greet guests with a warm, welcoming attitude and deliver personalized service.
  • Take drink orders from guests and servers, answer menu questions.
  • Handle specials or complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Set up bar at shift start with equipment, garnishes, and supplies ready.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area and proper waste disposal.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages.
  • Follow safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations and verify IDs.
  • Enforce responsible service and manage guest alcohol consumption.
  • Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff for smooth service.
  • Assist with restocking and support barback duties during busy periods.
  • Foster a positive team environment while delivering exceptional service.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work varying schedules as needed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Monitor and report inventory levels for beverages, garnishes, and supplies to prevent shortages.

  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations, including verifying guest identification.

  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and enforce responsible service practices.

  • Adhere to all state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.

  • Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.

  • Assist with restocking supplies and support barback duties during busy periods.

  • Foster a positive team environment while delivering exceptional service.

  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.

  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.

  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications Include:

  • Previous experience in a food and beverage setting is required, with bartending experience highly preferred.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred

  • Comprehensive understanding of alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, preparation techniques, appropriate glassware, and bar equipment, including knowledge of legal regulations for alcohol service (TIPS or local State approved certification or ability to obtain is required).

  • Strong guest service skills with a focus on creating memorable experiences.

  • Basic proficiency with computer systems for order processing and inventory tracking.

  • Physical ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
