Job summary

Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee seeks a part-time Bar Back to support the bar team with stock, garnishes, and service. You will help prepare items, maintain supplies, verify orders, and ensure cleanliness in the bar area.

• Prior bar experience preferred.
• Knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and liquor laws.
• Basic math skills for portion sizes and inventory.
• Manual dexterity to handle glassware, knives, ice, and kegs.
• Ability to communicate in English with staff and guests.
• Ability to read safety instructions for products and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 200 lbs.

What will you be doing?

What we are looking for:

• Prior bar experience preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable in preparation of alcoholic beverages including adhering to all State, Federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to ensure proper delivery amounts, understand portion sizes, and assist with inventory.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms in order to use a knife, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, tap kegs, and extend arms overhead to stock items.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate in English in order to provide service as requested by bartenders, managers and guests.
• Ability to read and comprehend safe-handling instructions of products and equipment.
• Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 lbs.
