Job summary

Atlas Restaurant Group in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Bar Back to support bartenders by stocking garnishes, glassware, and napkins, and assisting with opening/closing duties in a fast-paced environment.

You will learn menu items, assist with the POS, and help ensure the bar operates smoothly while delivering great guest service and maintaining a clean, well-organized workspace.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience required.
• Meets state minimum age (18) to serve alcohol.
• Dependability and reliability to meet obligations.
• Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team player is a must.
• Strong task and time management abilities.
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with opening and closing duties and restocking garnishes, napkins and glassware.
• Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine and beer.
• Checking taps and appliances, performing minor repairs or changing kegs as needed.
• Keeping the bar clean by wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping and removing trash.
• Perform bussing responsibilities such as clearing cups and trash from bar top and tables.
• Learning menu items and memorizing cocktail recipes; assist bartender with POS.
• Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties.

General Summary The Bar Assistant will assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities, and taking on other duties to support the Bartender and ensure that the bar operates smoothly. The Bar Assistant should be knowledgeable about menu items, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with opening and closing duties, such restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc
• Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer
• Checking taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs or changing out kegs, if needed
• Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles
• Perform bussing responsibilities such as clearing empty cups and trash from bar top and tables
• Learning about menu items and memorizing cocktail recipes; assist bartender while learning to navigate the POS
• Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties

Requirements

Compensation

• Maryland: This role pays $3.63 - 7.00 per hourplus tips
• Pennsylvania: This role pays $5.00 - 5.50 per hour plus tips
• Delaware: This role pays $13.25 - 14.00 per hour
• Florida: This role pays $9.98 per hour plus tips
• Texas: This role pays $5.00 - 5.50 per hour plus tips
