Job summary

Acme Hospitality is seeking a Barback to support bartenders and ensure smooth bar operations. You will help maintain cleanliness, restock supplies, and assist with beverage service to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

The role requires 21+ years of age, experience in upscale settings, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to a polished bar area and collaborate with staff to ensure service excellence.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Experience as Barback in fine dining or upscale bar preferred.
• Knowledge of bar operations, including basic drink recipes, glassware, and bar equipment.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
• Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy items (cases, kegs).
• Professional appearance, adhering to dress code and grooming standards.
• Strong attention to detail for cleanliness and presentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication to collaborate with bartenders, waitstaff, and guests.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients.
• Team player and willing to learn from supervisors.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and age verification.

• RBS or similar certification for responsible alcohol service is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders in setting up bar for service, garnishes, glassware, and tools.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and hygiene across surfaces and equipment.
• Restock liquor, mixers, garnishes, ice, and supplies during shifts.
• Wash and polish glassware, utensils, and bar tools.
• Retrieve stock from storage and replenish as needed.
• Dispose of waste and follow proper recycling procedures.
• Maintain organized storage for bar supplies and efficient workflow.
• Prepare and deliver non-alcoholic beverages and water.
• Collaborate with bartenders to fulfill drinks accurately and timely.
• Help keep drink station and back bar clean and organized.

Position Summary

The Barback is responsible for supporting the bartenders and ensuring a smooth operation of the bar. They assist in maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies, and assisting with beverage service to provide exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bartenders in preparing and organizing the bar for service, including setting up garnishes, glassware, and bar tools.
• Keep the bar area clean and well-maintained, including wiping down counters, bar tops, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Restock the bar supplies throughout the shift, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, ice, and other necessary ingredients.
• Wash and polish glassware, utensils, and bar tools, ensuring they are cleaned and ready for use.
• Retrieve and replenish stock from storage areas, including liquor bottles, kegs, and cases of beer or wine.
• Dispose of empty bottles, cans, and trash, following proper recycling and waste management procedures.
• Assist in maintaining a well-organized storage area for bar supplies, ensuring easy access and efficient workflow.
• Prepare and deliver non-alcoholic beverages and water to guests as needed.
• Collaborate with the bartenders to fulfill drink orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the drink station and back bar area.
• Support the bartenders in preparing and presenting specialty cocktails and mixed drinks.
• Provide exceptional customer service by promptly attending to guest requests and inquiries.
• Assist in closing procedures, including cleaning and organizing the bar area, restocking supplies, and securing equipment.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of glassware, bar tools, and cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude, contributing to a harmonious and efficient work environment.
