Job summary

The Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee seeks a server assistant/busser to support the dining team by restocking, cleaning, and delivering to tables. You will help bartenders and servers maintain a smooth service flow and keep the bar area organized and well-stocked.

You should be dependable, able to work in a high-activity setting, and comfortable lifting bar supplies. Availability includes nights, weekends, and holidays; prior hospitality or barback experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Restock liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages throughout service
• Prepare and replenish garnishes, juices, syrups, and ice
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar, including glassware and workstations
• Collect and wash glassware, ensuring consistent availability during service
• Assist with bar setup and breakdown, including opening and closing duties
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to bartenders or management
• Support bartenders during peak periods by anticipating needs and maintaining flow
• Remove trash, clean spills, and ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
• Seat customers, respond to any special needs and requests quickly, and relay them to the waiter or manager, if necessary
• Handle delivering food from the kitchen to the table on time. Ask if you can help with anything else before leaving the table
• Fill water glasses, bring beverages, or refill customers’ glasses, and remember to refill condiments and bring them to the table
• Keep track of kitchen inventory to make sure kitchen and server stations are fully stocked with all the supplies needed
• Clear dirty dishes from tables, clean tables, and prepare for the next guests by resetting tables with clean silverware and napkins

Are you an enthusiastic worker with strong organizational and customer service skills? Then you could be what we are looking for in a server assistant/busser. You will work closely with our servers and help them deliver food to customers’ tables, as well as clear, clean, and reset each table with tableware to get it ready for the next party. You’ll bring customers to their tables, address their inquiries, and alert servers when their attention is needed.
You should be familiar with the menu as well as food safety rules. Attention to detail and organization are important since you’ll be regularly restocking items in the kitchen and server stations.
