Job summary

Northern Waters Casino Resort in Watersmeet, Michigan is seeking a Bar Back to support our bartenders and beverage service. This part-time position offers a $14.00-$15.00 per hour non-exempt pay rate and requires flexibility, teamwork, and strong customer service in a fast-paced casino environment.

Responsibilities include stocking and cleaning beverage areas, learning beverage equipment operations, and assisting bartenders, servers, and security as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Able to lift 100 pounds
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Completion of TIPS Training
• Completion of Title 31
• Must pass background checks and other pre-employment screenings

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service through active engagement along with displaying a positive attitude.
• Basic knowledge of liquor, beer, wines, drink recipes and correct glassware.
• Must learn operations of beverage equipment: blenders, coffee makers, dishwashers, coolers, and juice machines.
• Responsible for cleaning and stocking ALL beverage areas: Assist in cleaning tables and countertops, glassware, floors and sinks, ensure kegs and CO2 tanks are operational, stock and rotate walk-in cooler.
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
• Communicate and assist bartenders, servers, and security for possible intoxication of guests
• May assist with cleaning and stocking of club house bar
• Be flexible and assume other duties as assigned by management
• Attend meetings and trainings as required by Casino Regulations

Job description

PAY RATE: $14.00-$15.00 per hour (Non-Exempt) D.O.E

To ensure the bartenders have all supplies necessary to maintain smooth and efficient service.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service through active engagement along with displaying a positive attitude.
• Basic knowledge of liquor, beer, wines, drink recipes and correct glassware
• Must learn operations of our beverage equipment: blenders, coffee makers, dishwashers, coolers, and juice machines.
• Responsible for cleaning and stocking ALL beverage areas:
  • Assist in cleaning tables and countertops.
  • Assist in cleaning glassware.
  • Ensure the floors and sinks are kept clear of debris.
  • Verify that all beer kegs, coke bibs and CO2 tanks are always kept operational.
  • Understand the dish area and proper use of chemicals.
  • Make certain the walk-in cooler is stocked, cleaned, and rotated to date.
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
• Communicating and assisting of the bartenders, servers, and security for possible intoxication of guests
• May be needed to assist with cleaning and stocking of club house bar.
• Due to the dynamic casino environment from time to time, we require employees to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management.
• To remain in compliance with Casino Regulatory policies and procedures, employees are required to attend all necessary meetings and trainings facilitated by Management.
