ROLE SUMMARY:
The Banquet Manager is responsible for the successful execution of events at Stockyards Station, serving as the primary operational leader from setup through event closeout. This role leads banquet teams, ensures events are executed according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), partners with internal departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences, and provides operational support at both Stockyards Station and Hotel Drover as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to Serve as the lead Banquet Manager and primary operational point of contact for assigned events.
- Oversee events from final setup through service, breakdown, and closeout, ensuring successful execution.
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure all event spaces are set accurately and event ready.
- Conduct pre-event inspections, addressing setup, cleanliness, presentation, and operational concerns.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients, Catering, Culinary, Setup, and Banquet teams during event execution.
- Attend BEO meetings and communicate event details, timelines, and expectations to banquet team members.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and provide direction to banquet servers, bartenders, captains, and support staff.
- Monitor service standards, event timing, guest requests, and overall event flow throughout assigned functions.
- Respond to client requests, event changes, and operational challenges in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with banquet staffing and scheduling based on business demands and event requirements.
- Complete end-of-night event documentation and operational closeout responsibilities.
- Ensure event spaces are properly broken down, reset, and prepared for upcoming functions.
- Assist with meeting room setup and breakdown, beer booths, grill operations, concession operations, and equipment organization when coverage is needed.
- Provide Banquet Manager coverage at Hotel Drover based on operational and staffing needs.
- Train, coach, and reinforce banquet service and setup standards with team members.
- Partner with internal departments to ensure seamless communication and successful event execution.
- All other duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout banquet and event spaces for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 30 lbs regularly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume event environment.
- Flexibility to work both indoors and outdoors based on event location and operational needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides direct leadership and oversight of Banquet Captains, Banquet Servers, Banquet Bartenders, and Banquet Housepersons during assigned events.
- Assists with staffing, scheduling, coaching, and performance management of banquet team members.
- Reinforces service standards, policies, procedures, and operational expectations.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2-3 years of banquet, catering, event, hospitality, or food & beverage leadership experience.
- Experience leading or supporting shifts in a high-volume environment.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and executing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Ability to problem-solve in real time and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong knowledge of banquet operations, event execution, and guest service standards.
- Flexible schedule - must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous banquet management experience in a hotel, resort, event venue, or hospitality environment.
- Experience managing high-volume events and multiple functions simultaneously.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations and event service standards.
- Experience supporting hiring, training, and performance management processes.
