Job summary

Embassy Suites Denver Downtown is part of the Sage Hospitality Group and is seeking a Director of Banquets. This role leads the banquets department, drives profitability, and mentors associates while acting as liaison across hotel departments.

You will supervise daily operations, coordinate with customers and internal teams, and ensure high standards of service, safety, and hospitality in a fast-paced venue inside a convention-focused property.

Qualifications

• Two to three years in a related Banquets role.
• One to two years of post high school education.
• Advanced knowledge of catering and food & beverage.
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of banquets to ensure compliance with SOPs and safety regulations.
• Meet with customers to review the Banquet Event Order and changes to ensure delivery of a quality product.
• Calculate and review banquet checks and collect payment from customers.
• Prepare daily gratuities and payroll reporting to the Controller's department.
• Monitor sanitation and maintenance of banquet areas and equipment.
• Analyze banquet event orders and set-up for each event.
• Set tables in assigned areas and ensure proper room setups.
• Communicate with customers, managers and associates to meet/exceed expectations.
• Work flexible shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
