Qualifications

• At least one year of prior food prep experience.
• Knowledge of food preparation and knife handling skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, recipes, short correspondence, and memos.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food items such as salads, soups, sauces, meats and vegetables per recipes.
• Butchers chicken, fish and shellfish; trims and bones meat before cooking.
• Reads menu to estimate food requirements and requisitions from storage.
• Maintains oven, broiler, grill, roaster and steam kettle temperatures as required.
• Measures and mixes ingredients using kitchen tools (blenders, mixers, slicers, knives).
• Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats, fish, vegetables and other foods.
• Adds seasonings per recipe and adjusts as needed.
• Tests foods by tasting, smelling, and checking for proper doneness.
