Job summary

The Ballantyne is seeking a Banquet Houseperson in Charlotte, NC to assist with setup, service, and breakdown of banquet events. You will carefully arrange tables, chairs, linens, and decor, and help transport and serve food and beverages while maintaining a clean, organized area.

The role requires endurance to stand for long periods, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a collaborative attitude in a fast-paced hotel environment. Previous banquet or hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a banquet or hospitality setting preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Setup: Set up tables, chairs, linens, and other equipment according to event specifications.
• Assist in the placement of centerpieces, table settings, and other decorative elements.
• Ensure all equipment is clean and functional.
• Service: Transport food and beverage items to and from the kitchen and banquet areas.
• Assist in the service of food and beverages to guests, as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the event.
• Breakdown: Remove all food and beverage items from tables and dispose of waste properly.
• Strip tables and stack chairs.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment and surfaces.
• Transport used linens and equipment to designated areas.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Work cooperatively with other team members.
• Be flexible and able to adapt to changing schedules and event requirements.
