Job summary

The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Lead Banquet Setup / Houseperson to drive successful event execution. You will lead setup and breakdown for meetings, weddings, and functions, while ensuring rooms are prepared, equipment is ready, and spaces remain clean and professional.

You will guide a team of setup staff, communicate changes to leadership, and support banquet servers to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Prior banquet/hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Lead and coordinate banquet setup and breakdown for meetings and events.
• Set tables, chairs, linens, staging, and buffet areas according to orders.
• Review daily event requirements and ensure rooms are prepared before guest arrival.
• Lead banquet housepersons and setup team members during functions.
• Maintain clean, organized banquet spaces and service areas.
• Monitor event spaces and address setup, cleanliness, or equipment needs.
• Assist with moving and arranging tables, chairs, and equipment safely.
• Communicate changes and operational needs to Banquet Manager or leadership.
• Support servers with room resets and replenishment.
• Return equipment to storage after events.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and property standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with moving and arranging furniture and equipment safely.
• Communicate event changes to the Banquet Manager.
• Support servers during room resets and replenishment.
• Return all equipment to storage after events.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and property standards.
