Job Description

To ensure the function room is set according to guest expectations and Omni Standards. To set up, tear down, and clean all space associated with banquets and conventions.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

1. Ensure Function Rooms are cleaned prior to Set-up.
2. Sets equipment to Daily Work Sheet specifications. Be able to follow instructions on Banquet Event Orders.
3. Provides required amenities, as dictated by Banquet Department Standards / Follow Standard Operating Procedures.
4. Refreshes meeting rooms during meal and coffee breaks.
5. Breaks down meeting rooms as soon as possible after the end of function.
6. Completes Special Projects as directed by department management / Attend Banquet event order meetings and Preconvention meetings.
7. Moves convention material boxes, programs, etc. from hotel receiving docks, registration areas, sleeping rooms, or suites.
8. Caring for the equipment.
9. Accommodates special customer needs, hanging banners for meetings and food/beverage functions.

Tools and Equipment:

1. Coffee maker/urn, toaster, microwave, beverage machines, bus trays, dishware, silverware, glassware, queen-mary cart, telephone, pen/pencil.

Working Environment:

1. Interior & exterior (Casino Lawn, Driving Range, Mt. Vernon Lawn) of hotel, in the restaurant, lounge and kitchen areas, with exposure to extreme temperatures.
2. Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.
3. Exposure to food items and beverages.

Qualifications

1. Previous banquet and event set up experience, preferred.
2. Previous hospitality/customer service experience, preferred.
3. Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers, both in person and by radio.
4. Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
5. Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
6. Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up in a fast-paced environment.
7. Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
8. Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift.
9. Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays and evenings.
10. Must be able to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

*This position is a full-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
