Job summary

The Holiday Inn By the Bay in Portland, ME is seeking friendly, enthusiastic team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role requires nightly and weekend availability, a professional appearance, and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities include supporting event setups, assisting guests, maintaining equipment and safety procedures, and upholding building policies. Prior experience in high-volume hospitality is preferred, with thorough knowledge of BEOs and a readiness to multi-task.

Qualifications

• Must read, understand and follow BEOs.
• Must be able to walk/stand for long shifts.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.

Core Focus & Essential Responsibilities: Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

• Preferred one-year experience in a high-volume hospitality service setting
• Preferred hotel banquet event set up experience or comparable service experience in a high volume, catering and events venue
• Ability to read, understand and follow BEO’s
• Maintenance and inventory of equipment
• Provide the primary level of guest assistance
• Required to have a thorough knowledge of building policies, procedures and event requirements
• Ensure the venue is safe for guests
• Ensure a professional and safe environment for all guests
• Must be available nights and weekends. Friendly and personable. Excellent customer service skills required!
• Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude
• Must be able to multi task
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Walks and stands during 90% of shifts
• Must be able to move stacks of chairs and carry tables
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and lifting
• Work indoors 95%; outdoors 5%
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs"
