Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation in the United States is seeking a Houseperson - Events to help set up and break down all meeting spaces with tables, chairs, water, and related equipment. The role requires good communication and the ability to lift moderate weight.

The position is fast-paced and requires flexibility for irregular schedules including weekends and holidays. You will work indoors and outdoors in all weather, with opportunities to contribute to successful events and guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to read and understand written Banquet Event Orders and Diagrams.
• Ability to work an irregular work schedule including weekends, holidays, late nights.
• Must possess basic math and language skills, including the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing).
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
• Tasks performed indoors and outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down all meeting spaces with tables/chairs/water, etc.
• Confirm equipment is returned and properly stored after installation/strike.
• Push equipment as required.
• Ensure storage rooms are kept clean and in an orderly manner.
• Set up and break down for banquet functions as needed including moving tables, setting tables and chairs, staging and portable stairs, podiums, bar set-up, etc.
• Set up and break down a variety of rooms in various styles and shapes.
• Maintains a strong knowledge of various types of set-up.
• Lift moderate amounts of weight in the form of tables, chairs, stanchions, staging floor panels and dance floor panels and other equipment as required.
