Job summary

Raines Co. in Little Rock, AR is seeking a Banquet Server to set up and serve food and beverages for banquet events in accordance with hotel standards. You will greet guests, read and fulfill banquet event orders, maintain a clean work area, and assist bartenders or other servers as needed while complying with health and safety regulations.

Prior banquet or hospitality experience is preferred. Flexibility with event schedules, ability to stand for long periods, and a professional, guest-focused

Qualifications

• Previous experience as server, busser, runner, host(ess).
• Understanding of banquet terminology and/or setup.
• Certifications as required by Federal, State, or Local agencies; ServSafe, TIPS Certification.
• Minimum High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly, courteous and attentive manner.
• Read and respond to guest needs and banquet orders.
• Set up banquet space in accordance with banquet event order.
• Maintain a clean working area and assist bartenders or other servers as needed.
• Serve guests according to hotel standards and clear items as needed.
• Ensure all items are stored and cleaned after events; comply with health regulations.

Position Summary: The Banquet Setup is responsible for the set up and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions according to the hotel standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Greet guests in a friendly, courteous and attentive manner
• Listens and responds to guest’s needs
• Know how to read a banquet event order
• Must be familiar with the menu and assigned function
• Set up banquet space in accordance with banquet event order
• Maintain clean working area
• Serve guests according to hotel’s standards
• Clean up banquet space after the completion of event or function
• Ensure all banquet items are stored and put away properly and clean
• Returns to the table throughout the guest’s visit to ask if they are satisfied, check for refills, clear items as needed from the table
• Assist bartenders or other servers as needed
• Performs side duties such as cleaning, rolling silverware, setting tables, sweeping, etc
• Complies with all health and safety regulations

Experience and Education:

Previous experience as server, busser, runner, host(ess)
