Our Banquet Servers provide quality service to guests during dining events, serving all tables simultaneously and handling hundreds of participants. They collaborate closely with catering staff to ensure quick delivery of each course, keep glasses refilled, remove used plates, answer guest questions, and conduct post‑service clean‑up. Servers possess working knowledge of wine, cocktails, and food.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and set tables according to specifications
- Set up hors d’oeuvre/buffet tables and pass food items
- Take accurate orders at table when multiple entrée selections are present
- Deliver food and beverages accurately and in a timely manner
- Tray pass cocktails
- Provide proper service to a section, including serving multiple courses, watering tables, bussing between courses, clearing after the event, and wine and coffee service
- Apply functional wine knowledge for proper service
- Follow SOPs to standardize event set up and service
- Know McCall and Shore Lodge’s history to help guests learn about local offerings
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of experience in fine‑dining or high‑volume environments (high‑end restaurant, resort, or private club preferred)
- Effective communication skills with guests and team members
- Ability to multi‑task while remaining highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in taking orders, entering them into POS systems, and processing payments
- Ability to carry 25 lbs on a large oval tray and lift supplies or equipment weighing 30 lbs or more
- Functional knowledge of food techniques for preparation
- Functional wine and cocktail knowledge with basic preparation techniques
- Knowledge of Shore Lodge’s history
- Knowledge of McCall and surrounding area to help out‑of‑town guests with local offerings
