Job description

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Banquet Server will set up and prepare the banquet room for functions. The Server will also serve and bus tables, as well as clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the function. Must have a strong skill set with timeliness, accountability, teamwork, and a sense of urgency. The Banquet Server must be a quick learner, adhere to company standards, and be flexible with scheduling. Will work all holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of food and beverage experience preferred.
• Pleasant and helpful personality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Set up for functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and putting out table centerpieces.
• Service to include picking up food from the back hall, carrying trays to the function location, serving food, and clearing food from the tables.
• Break down to include bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, and vacuuming.
• Responsibilities also include cleaning of the back hall and organizing storerooms.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain open communication with management and other employees.
• Be well organized and efficient.

ENVIRONMENT:

Indoor and outdoor environments, working for as long as a function lasts. Indoor working conditions include walking on carpeted areas and vinyl areas. Outdoor working conditions include walking on cement and grass.
