Job description

JOB OVERVIEW:

Set up banquet room and serve food and/or beverages in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner according to Crescent high standards of quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor, including linen, serviceware, and glassware.
2. Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function details, including guest and hotel expectations.
3. Greet guests and respond to requests courteously.
4. Serve food and/or beverages as per Supervisor’s instructions, ensuring consistency throughout the banquet. Promptly clear dishes after each course or at the end of the meal.
5. Follow all State, Federal, and Corporate regulations regarding alcohol service.
6. Replenish beverages as needed and check with guests on their satisfaction.
7. Reset the banquet room after events according to Supervisor’s specifications for upcoming functions.
8. Adhere to attendance policies and be available for work regularly.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Self-motivated with an even temperament.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner.
• Good communication skills with guests.
• Willingness to assist coworkers and be a team player.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, standards, and etiquette.

• Physical ability to transport up to 30 lbs. and operate beverage equipment.

• Food Handler and TIPS certifications.
