Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation in Cambridge, MA is seeking a friendly banquet server to deliver hospitality during events, serve meals, and maintain service standards.

You’ll adhere to safety guidelines, set up function rooms, garnish dishes, and engage with guests to ensure memorable experiences. The role may require nights, weekends, and holidays; benefits include medical/dental, 401(k), paid time off, and hotel discounts.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Sonesta safety guidelines.
• Prepare function room for banquet functions; set tables and place settings.
• Serve drinks to guests.
• Garnish and decorate dishes prior to serving.
• Observe diners to respond to requests and determine when the meal is finished.
• Suggest desserts, beverages and after-dinner drinks.
• Ladle soup, toss salads, portion pies and desserts, brew coffee and other services.
• Clear and reset tables after each course.
• Adhere to Sonesta Service Standards and Safety & Sanitation Standards.
• May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
• Deliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our Guests.
• Deliver GUEST model: greet, eye contact, establish needs, own requests, thank guests.

Serve meals to patrons for banquet and catering functions.

What you’ll be doing

• Always Adhere to Stay Safe with Sonesta safety guidelines.
• Prepare function room for banquet function; set tables and place settings.
• Serve drink of choice to guests.
• Garnish and decorate dishes prior to serving.
• Observe diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
• Suggest desserts, beverages and after dinner drinks.
• Ladle soup, toss salads, portion pies and desserts, brew coffee and perform other services as needed.
• Clear and reset tables at conclusion of each course.
• Adhere to Sonesta Service Standards.
• Adhere to all Sonesta Safety and Sanitation Standards.
• May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.

• Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.

Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information $9.39 to $11.39 eligible for gratuities. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific experience/overall experience.
