Job summary

The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa in Denver is seeking a Banquet Server to assist with setup and serving at all banquet functions, ensuring top-tier hospitality and adherence to hotel standards.

Responsibilities include reading BEOs, serving guests professionally, and maintaining a clean banquet area. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to stand for long periods; experience in hotels or banquets is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or hotel-related experience preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work – up to 50 lbs on occasion and up to 20 lbs frequently.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Effective listening, understanding and clarifying guest concerns.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize functions to meet deadlines.
• Attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented demeanor with guests and employees.
• Ability to take initiative and anticipate guest or operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preparatory tasks and side work to ensure guests are served promptly and efficiently.
• Read and follow the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the assigned function's menu.
• Serve guests according to hotel standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents; communicate to management when necessary.
• Set all tables according to hotel standards.
• Keep banquet storeroom neat and stocked with supplies for functions.
• Clean banquet space after events and store/re-stock equipment and supplies.
• Prepare rooms according to BEO and meal functions.
• Follow money handling procedures when serving guests.
• Know the menu items for each function and provide accurate descriptions.
• Aim to ensure overall guest satisfaction and quality service.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
