Job summary

White Lodging is seeking a banquet server for the Union Club Hotel at Purdue in West Lafayette, IN. You will support setup, service, and tear-down of banquet events, delivering professional tableside and buffet services with a guest-first approach.

You will be expected to know menu items, maintain professional appearance, and anticipate guest needs to ensure exceptional events. This role offers growth within a hospitality-focused environment.

• Knowledge of various food-service styles.
• Banquet or hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, service, clean-up, and tear-down of banquet events.
• Set tables, buffets, bars and snack breaks in assigned areas.
• Professionally serve food and beverages tableside and from buffets.
• Monitor tables, buffets and breaks to keep them clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
• Assist other members of the banquet team to deliver a phenomenal event that exceeds guest expectations.
• Be an ambassador of the hotel by maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
• Anticipate guest needs and offer exemplary hospitality while always exhibiting professionalism and friendliness.
• Be knowledgeable of all menu items, contents, preparation methods, and garnishes; accurately answer guest questions.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for the successful set-up, service, clean-up, and tear-down of banquet events.
• Set tables, buffets, bars and snack breaks in assigned areas correctly and accurately.
• Professionally serve food and beverages butler-style, tableside, and from buffets.
• Monitor tables, buffets and breaks to keep them clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
• Assist other members of the banquet team to deliver a phenomenal event that exceeds guest expectations.
• Be an ambassador of the hotel by maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
• Anticipate guest needs and offer exemplary hospitality while always exhibiting professionalism and friendliness.
• Be knowledgeable of all menu items, contents, preparation methods, and garnishes; accurately answer any guest questions.
• Perform all cleaning, opening, and closing duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
