The Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is seeking a Banquet Server to join our team. You will provide warm, attentive service for banquet events, using your menu knowledge to delight guests and ensure memorable experiences. Reporting to the Banquet Manager, you will contribute to flawless service for all functions.

This role requires flexibility for varied shifts including weekends/holidays, strong guest relations, and a commitment to the highest hospitality standards at our iconic property.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly and engaging service.

• Serve all food and beverage items for banquet events.
• Have full knowledge of beverage lists and all menu items being served.
• Follow outlet policies and procedures.
• Follow established service guidelines for each event.
• Demonstrate expected table service and wine/beverage knowledge.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
• Clear and reset tables after each course with necessary mise en place.
• Maintain a positive service attitude and assist guests as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Overview

Banquet Server

Reporting to the Banquet Manager, the Banquet Server is responsible for offering individual warm and welcoming service by paying attention to the guests' needs and looking for every opportunity to wow and delight the guest with your knowledge and service levels. Serves meals for banquet functions.

Rate of Pay: $10.00 per hour plus tips

Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet meetings
• Have full knowledge of beverage lists and all menu items being served
• Follow outlet policies and procedures
• Follow established service guidelines and practices for each individual event.
• Demonstrate the expected standards of table service and wine/ beverage knowledge.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Clears and resets tables at conclusion of each course with the needed Mise en place.
• Maintain a positive service attitude at all times and be willing to help and advise guests with all questions and requests they may have
• Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Available to work varied shifts based on business demands, including but not limited to, weekends and holidays
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Must be able to lift, carry, reach, push/pull at least 50lbs
• Frequently bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting
• Occasional descending or ascending ladders, stairs and ramps
