Job summary

The Barnett in New Orleans seeks a dedicated Banquet Server to deliver high-quality food service and guest experiences at events and meals. You will work closely with banquet teams to set up, serve plated meals, and ensure smooth service from start to finish.

Ideal candidates are energetic, detail-oriented, and capable of communicating clearly in English. Prior hotel or banquet experience is a plus, and a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is often required.

The Banquet Server is responsible for providing outstanding guest service by ensuring high quality of food delivery and guest experience.

Complete all tasks for setup, service, breakdown, and reorganize banquet area.

Any additional duties required by banquet captain/supervisor or manager.

Exhibit teamwork at all times.

Adhere to all time and attendance, department and hotel policies.

JOB DUTIES

• Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready for work.
• Assist with setting banquet tables to meet function specifications.
• Deliver and serve food and beverages, including plated meals condiments and accompaniments.
• Be familiar with menu offerings in order to accurately provide information related to its ingredients and preparations.
• Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service and respond to all requests in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
• Remove china, glassware, silverware, etc. from tables at the conclusion of the meal period and deliver to the stewarding area.
• Assist team members when needed to accomplish all assigned tasks each day and maintain positive working relationships.
• Assist with side work including cleaning, replenishing condiments and restocking banquet shelves with supplies.
• Watch for safety hazards and report them immediately to your Supervisor/Manager.
• Maintain control of keys issued and return them at the end of each shift.
• Attend all mandatory Department and Hotel meetings.
• Complete all required training within timeframe allotted.
• Act in accordance with fire, health and safety regulations and follow the correct procedures as required.
• Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
• Support environmental commitments by acquiring the knowledge, skills and values to be a leader in the global goal of "greening" the hospitality industry.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Must meet grooming standards
• Able to work as part of a team
• Able to work with little or no supervision
• Previous hotel/resort experience (preferred)
• Able to prioritize, organize and follow-up
• Strong attention to detail and able to make concise decisions
• Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
• Able to demonstrate high energy, and strong enthusiasm for customer service
• Able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
