Job summary

Legends Global in Knoxville is seeking part-time Banquet Servers to support events at the Knoxville Convention Center. Responsibilities include room setup, beverage service, buffet and plated meals, and post-event breakdown while maintaining client relationships.

Candidates should have experience in food and beverage service, a neat appearance, and the ability to work flexible nights, weekends, and holidays. Bartending requires a TABC card when applicable and adherence to service standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food and beverage service preferred.
• Able to read and follow banquet orders and policies.
• TABC card (when bartending) required or to be obtained on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up of event room and banquet equipment.
• Prepare garnishes, beverages, condiments, and bread baskets.
• Set tables and serve per BEO specifications and instructions.
• Breakdown equipment and return items to storage after events.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, guests and coworkers.
• Comply with health and safety codes.

The Knoxville Convention Center has excellent and immediate openings for part-time Banquet Servers . The Banquet Servers report to the Banquet Supervisor and Food and Beverage Manager and are responsible for all banquet functions which includes set-up, any beverage break, buffet, plated and reception events, etc. Position will also to be eligible to work additional shifts in concessions and bartending (if you maintain a current TABC license).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist with preparation and set-up of event room including, but not limited to, the collection of all banquet equipment to include flatware, China, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event.
• Prepares garnishes, beverages, condiments, and bread baskets.
• Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers
• Prepare tables with place settings as instructed.
• Fulfilling the service per each Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and/or any standards and instructions set by management, the Client, or Banquet Captain
• Breakdown banquet equipment and set-up after each event and then clean and return serving pieces to proper storage area.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, customers, guests, and co-workers.

• Compliant with all health and safety codes
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Prior experience in the food and beverage service industry preferred.

• Must have the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
• Must have good hygiene and a neat, conservative appearance.
• Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
• Exemplary food and beverage service skills in a fine dining atmosphere.
• A strong commitment to exemplary customer service.

• Ability to read, understand, and implement ASM Standards of Service, Banquet Event Orders, and other policies and procedures.
• Must have ability to take/follow directions and remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

Must hold or obtain upon hiring a TABC card (when bartending)

• Regular lifting and carrying minimum of 20 lbs.
• Constant standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and handling food and chemical products.
• Ability to work extended hours productively in a fast-paced, very physically demanding environment.
• Ability to navigate in and out of banquet doors and service pockets throughout shift.
• Potential exposure to dust pollen and fumes, and food allergens, and extreme changes in heat and cold
• Subject to high noise level
• Possible exposure to weather conditions
