Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation in King of Prussia, PA seeks a banquet server to provide food and beverage service for events. You will set tables with linens, dishes, and glassware and assist with flow of function. Responsibilities include greeting guests, serving items on hand-held trays or buffet carts, and setting up condiments.

You will break down rooms after events and ensure proper cleanup. Prior banquet experience is preferred; physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy items throughout

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or banquet setting preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for full shift.
• Ability to lift and carry trays up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to push/pull carts up to 100 pounds.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Job Description

Serve food and beverages to banquet guests. Set up banquet functions by setting tables with linens, dishes, flatware, and glassware according to banquet order. Break down banquet functions by clearing tables and transporting used items to appropriate areas to be cleaned.

Job Functions

• Set up banquet room in accordance with catering specification sheet; table linens, dishes, silverware, and glassware.
• Greet guests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverage items to guests using hand-held trays and/or buffet carts.
• Prepare and set up condiments.
• Break down banquet room upon completion of function; remove soiled dishes, glassware and silverware and transport to dishwashing area

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of experience preferred.
• Must be able to stand and walk for duration of shift.
• Must be able to lift and carry trays weighing approximately 40 pounds.
• Must be able to push and/or pull carts weighing approximately 100 pounds.
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
