Overview
The Banquet Server is responsible for preparing for and serving guests during banquet functions in accordance with hotel standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, sanitation, and warm hospitality.

Status: Hourly/Part-Time
Pay Range: $18.20/hour
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and understand the Banquet Event Order (BEO); complete setup accordingly.
- Set tables in assigned area with clean, pressed linens, silverware, china, and glassware; properly fill table complements.
- Learns menu details and can explain ingredients and preparations.
- Be present at assigned station at least 15 minutes prior to start.
- Respond to guest requests and inform supervisor if needed.
- Keep station neat and clean during service.
- Refill drinks, remove service items, and ensure guest needs are met.
- Follow proper in-room clearing and aisle tray procedures.
- Return reusable items for cleaning and refilling.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of buffet and special food stations.
- Serve and break down banquet bars as assigned.
- Follow cash and guest check procedures.
- Return excess food to kitchen following sanitation guidelines.
- Complete assigned side work and assist in maintaining organizational cleanliness.
- Learn and apply proper service procedures.
- Support colleagues as needed.
- Stay updated on hotel events affecting responsibilities.
- Maintain responsible alcohol service certification.
- Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks during events.
Coffee Break Duties
- Set up, service, and clean coffee break areas and carts.
- Present breaks attractively and keep areas clean.
- Adhere to timing and standards for breaks.
- Prepare beverages per standards.
- Secure beverage coolers and storage at shift end.
- Assist with setup if needed.
- Follow all policies and procedures, including active listening and safety protocols.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous banquet server experience preferred; ability to follow directions and work well with others.
- Must be TIPS, CARE, or equivalent certified by first day on the job.
