Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington, DE, seeks a Pastry Cook to join our Bake Shop team. The role supports Banquet and Catering pastry needs for events ranging from 5 to 500 guests, plus offerings for Spark'd Coffee locations within the hotel.

You will learn, contribute creatively, and work with a dedicated pastry team to ensure high standards of flavor and presentation. Key duties include daily bake-offs, cake decorating, production of sauces and garnishes, and maintaining safety and sanitation

Formación

• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsabilidades

• Daily bake-offs for retail and banquet desserts, breads, and pastries, ensuring product quality and consistency.
• Filling, decorating, and finishing of cakes and specialty pastries.
• Production of sauces, custards, ice creams and garnishes by correctly following recipes provided.
• Plan production schedule daily and weekly to maintain freezer stock.
• Read and follow Banquet Event Orders to fulfill menu needs.
• Contribute creatively to recipe development while maintaining high flavor and presentation standards.
• Keep work area clean and comply with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment including stoves, mixers, ovens, and pastry tools.
