Job summary

Stonebridge in Montclair, New Jersey is seeking a Banquet Manager to lead scheduling and coordination of banquets, parties, and events, ensuring high service and quality standards. You will oversee operations, supervise staff, and ensure flawless execution to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities include staffing, budgeting and inventory control, coordinating with Sales, and ensuring all function rooms are prepared on time.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of banquet or event management with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong leadership and communication to train staff.
• Ability to interpret financial information and manage budgets.
• Knowledge of banquet setups, service standards, and health/safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities for multiple events.
• Proficiency with event management software and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and courteous service at all times.
• Ensure timely setup of function rooms according to event specs.
• Maintain inventory levels of banquet supplies (china, glass, silver, linen).
• Deliver quarterly inventory reports to the Finance Department.
• Collaborate with Sales to determine future business needs and workload.
• Requisition banquet staff and provide work instructions in advance of events.
• Meet with function group leaders to discuss changes and setups.
• Ensure proper service to clients during events and handle issues.
• Supervise banquet personnel, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
• Schedule banquets, parties, and other events.
• Assist banquet staff in setting up function rooms as needed.
• Ensure cleaning and maintenance of banquet equipment after events.
