Job Summary

The Inventory Specialist supports daily food and beverage operations at the George R. Brown Convention Center and selected Theater operations. Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels, tracking inventory, and communicating with management about equipment and supplies for Banquets and Concession Departments.

General Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels for banquet supplies
• Track stock movement for each event
• Conduct stock audits and reconcile discrepancies
• Coordinate with purchasing for timely deliveries
• Manage purchase orders for banquet supplies
• Oversee banquet decoration inventory
• Work with event teams to forecast demand
• Identify improvements for efficiency and shortages
• Maintain accurate records and generate reports

Planning & Preparation:

• Select themes and decor styles based on events
• Ensure availability of linens, centerpieces, and decorative props
• Coordinate with vendors for flowers and decorations
• Inspect stored decorations and coordinate replacements

Post-Event Cleanup & Inventory Management:

• Store reusable decorations for future use
• Conduct post-event inventory audits
• Coordinate cleaning and maintenance

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor's in supply chain or hospitality preferred
• Experience in inventory management, preferably in food & beverage banquet industry
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
