Job Summary:

Inventory Specialist – Food and Beverage

This role supports daily food and beverage operations at the George R. Brown Convention Center and selected theaters. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate stock levels, tracking inventory, and communicating with management regarding equipment and supplies for Banquets and Concession Departments.

General Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor and maintain inventory levels for banquet supplies.
  2. Track stock movement for each event.
  3. Conduct stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  4. Coordinate with purchasing for timely deliveries.
  5. Manage purchase orders for banquet supplies.
  6. Oversee banquet decoration inventory and storage.
  7. Work with event teams to forecast demand and prevent shortages.
  8. Identify efficiency improvements.
  9. Maintain records and generate reports.
Planning & Preparation:
  1. Select themes and decor styles based on event type.
  2. Ensure inventory for linens, centerpieces, and decorations.
  3. Coordinate with vendors for flowers and specialty decor.
  4. Inspect stored decorations and arrange replacements or repairs.
Post-Event Cleanup & Inventory Management:
  1. Store reusable decorations for future events.
  2. Conduct post-event inventory audits.
  3. Coordinate cleaning and maintenance of the banquet area.
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s in supply chain management or hospitality preferred.
  2. Experience in inventory management, preferably in food and beverage banquet industry.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Knowledge of food and beverage safety and sanitation regulations.
  6. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced, event-based environment.
