Overview

Are you ready to help shape the future of travel and hospitality at the new Hotel Polaris at the U.S. Air Force Academy? Hotel Polaris is seeking an exceptional Banquet Houseperson to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the success of Hotel Polaris, an instant icon on the hospitality landscape of Colorado Springs. Your efforts significantly influence the unique and distinctive experiences we seek to deliver to our guests and team members alike. Responsibilities
  • Read and follow Banquet Event Orders (BEO).
  • Ensure cleanliness of banquet rooms and surrounding areas.
  • Clean banquet space using cleaning machine and chemical product.
  • Set up tables, chairs, and other supplies.
  • Tear-down and set up of the meeting and event rooms, daily.
  • Inspect all public areas (foyer, assembly areas, restrooms) for cleanliness and pleasing appearance.
  • Inspect each function room prior to, and during breaks to ensure that all requirements reflected on the daily banquet event order are met.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of safety issues.
  • Ensure a professional appearance, proper uniforms are worn, and departmental service standards are maintained.
  • Basic knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, glassware, garnishes, and beverage service techniques.
  • Run food & drinks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess valid Food Handler’s card upon hire.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently.

Job Type: Full-time

Hourly Rate: $18.00/hr + service charge
