Job summary

Meyer Jabara Hotels, LLC is seeking a Banquet Houseman to support the Banquets Department in preparing for, maintaining, and recovering from events in a fast-paced hotel environment.

You will coordinate setup and breakdown of banquet spaces, review function sheets, assist with staffing and guest service, and uphold Hilton-brand standards. Strong English reading, reliable attendance, and teamwork are essential.

• Breaks down equipment after functions and reports maintenance needs.
• Must stand and demonstrate mobility for up to four hours.
• Must bend, squat, stoop, reach and climb as needed.
• Must lift and carry heavy objects.
• Must read and understand English to comply with directions.

Banquet Houseman

Will ensure the operational abilities of the Banquets Department by preparing for, maintaining, and recovering from various activities and functions in the Banquet Department.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Resolves guest complaints to the satisfaction of the guest; responds promptly to any guest request for service.
• Arrives at work in a timely fashion in accordance with the posted schedule.
• Abides by established uniform guidelines.
• Maintains a “can do” and a “guests first” attitude at all times.
• Works as a member of the overall hotel team to ensure that each guest has an experience that exceeds their expectations
• Attends scheduled training sessions within the hotel as dictated by the Hilton brand and the hotel management.
• Performs the setup and break down of all Banquet functions and meeting rooms.
• Reviews function sheets and sets up function room accordingly.
• Ensures all items necessary for the function is provided.
• Breaks down all equipment at the completion of a function and stores equipment as necessary. Reports any maintenance needs of equipment to supervisory staff.
• Must be able to stand and demonstrate well paced mobility for periods of up to four hours.
• Must be able to consistently bend, squat, stoop reach and climb.
• Must have the ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Must be able to read and understand English to comply with functions directions.
