Job summary

Box Elder Events Center in Box Elder, SD is seeking an entry to part-time Cook to support a dynamic venue team. You’ll assist with stocking, prep, plating, and coordinating with servers to ensure timely, accurate orders.

Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding food safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen. Flexible scheduling and day shifts available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years' experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry.
• Able to read and follow standardized recipes.
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
• Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations.
• Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.
• Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance.
• Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
• Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts.
• Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.
