Job summary

The Benson Hotel & Faculty Club, operating under Sage Hospitality on the UC Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, seeks a kitchen cook to ensure top-line service and strict sanitation. You will verify recipes, manage line setup, and support buffet operations while working mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities include following recipe cards, maintaining portion standards, rotating stock, and identifying shortages.

Qualifications

• Team-oriented with the ability to communicate across kitchen staff.
• Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to follow recipe cards and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Check items against recipe cards and use records for quality and portioning.
• Monitor line setup and ensure efficiency during meal periods.
• Maintain equipment and adhere to the 'clean as you go' policy.
• Prepare food to consistent standards following recipes and dupe notes.
• Rotate perishables, date containers, and manage stock levels.
• Note shortages and assist in stocking buffet areas.
• Return unused items to storage with proper dating and containment.
• Help develop plans to control food costs and reduce waste.
