The goal of the Banquet Chef is to manage the banquet kitchen. The Banquet Chef will collaborate with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to create and implement menus and concepts, and execute high-volume banquet functions. This role involves leading the kitchen for various banquet events, from client tastings to large VIP galas, and requires strong leadership, creativity, and the ability to facilitate large-scale production for on-site and off-site catering.

The salary range for this position is $70,600.00-$88,100.00, based on experience and education. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be made accordingly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting senior leadership and managing departmental responsibilities
  • Serving as a liaison between culinary and other hotel departments
  • Supervising food preparation and cooking
  • Developing creative menus adhering to brand standards
  • Planning and coordinating special events and holiday functions
  • Managing kitchen staff through scheduling, training, and evaluation
  • Leading and coaching the culinary team to achieve guest satisfaction and employee engagement
  • Monitoring food quality, costs, and safety standards
Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience in training, financial management, and customer service
  • A passion for exceeding guest expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to produce consistent quality products promptly
  • Experience managing multiple events across hotel banquet facilities
  • Formal culinary education or equivalent experience; hotel or large catering experience is required
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate weights
