You will support the Executive Chef, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure exceptional member experiences through meticulous planning and teamwork.

Role requires 3-5 years in banquet or culinary leadership, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to food safety, sanitation and professional service.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Banquet Chef

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Exempt

SUPERVISES EMPLOYEES: Yes

PURPOSE:

The Banquet Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality food for all Club dining functions, including member events, private functions, and daily culinary needs across the community. This role supports the Executive Chef by ensuring that all banquet and event menus are executed with consistency, excellence, and attention to detail befitting a premier private golf community. The Banquet Chef plays a key role in delivering exceptional member experiences through efficient preparation, strong organization, and collaboration with the culinary team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assisting: Assists cooks in producing quality food production. Assists in supervising the preparation and cooking of various food items, developing menu items and their preparation and garnishment.
2. Preparing: Reviews requests for banquets and restaurants by implementing supervisory guidance in reading function sheets. Writes up preparation sheet and assigns work duties.
3. Stocking: Prepares and works with the Executive Sous Chef on ordering foods. Ensures that ingredients specific to function sheets are on hand.
4. Maintaining: Maintains work area for cleanliness, safety and readiness. Trains and learns from others to improve managerial abilities. Maintain payrolls costs and overtime by scheduling effectively.
5. Learning and Adhering: Participates in active learning of culinary skills, safety and quality standard operating procedures. Adheres to safety and sanitation standards by attending safety and group meetings. Supports culinary direction of the Executive Chef and the Executive Sous Chef and adheres to all brand standards. Continue to promote learning environment for banquet team

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years’ experience as a Banquet Sous Chef
• Knowledge of quality standards for safety, sanitation and food handling
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume event
• Must possess strong organizational skills
• Ability to cater to member and their guests’ needs with a high level of customer service
• Ability to interact with members in a professional manner
• Ability to work with individuals and teams of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to listen and communicate to avoid and resolve conflict
• Ability to initiate and manage work to meet deadlines for high production team
• Ability to adapt to change as business needs evolve

Additional Information:

• Position is part of a high-volume food production team
• Holidays, weekend, and overtime work are required
• Six-day work week, three out of four weeks in a month
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
