Job summary

South Seas Resort, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, seeks a professional On-Call Banquet Captain to lead banquet and catered events in Southwest Florida, ensuring exceptional guest service.

As the on-site event leader, you will coordinate with Culinary, Stewarding, Conference Services, and resort departments to ensure flawless execution from setup through breakdown and to uphold the resort’s high standards of hospitality and presentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of banquet leadership, banquet captain, restaurant leadership, or hospitality supervisory experience preferred.
  • Resort, hotel, country club, convention center, or luxury hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of banquet service styles, food and beverage operations, and event execution.
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional appearance and guest-focused demeanor.
  • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in changing event environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead banquet service staff during assigned events, ensuring efficient execution and exceptional guest service.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with the team prior to each event to ensure complete understanding of event requirements.
  • Direct event setup, service execution, and breakdown according to resort standards.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate event details, service expectations, safety procedures, and assignments.
  • Monitor event flow and proactively adjust staffing or service as needed.
  • Ensure all banquet spaces are properly prepared, clean, organized, and presentation-ready.
  • Guest Experience: maintain visible floor presence and ensure attentive, personalized service.
  • Ensure food and beverage presentation meets South Seas Resort quality standards.
  • Supervise and motivate banquet servers, bartenders, banquet housepersons, and support staff during assigned shifts.
  • Coach team members on service standards, professionalism, and guest engagement.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and accountability throughout each event.
  • Coordinate closely with Culinary to ensure timely food delivery and service execution.
  • Monitor inventory of banquet supplies and communicate operational needs to leadership.
  • Assist with post-event inspections and ensure banquet spaces are reset and prepared for future functions.
