Job summary

Remington Hotels is seeking a Banquet Assistant to help plan and execute guest functions. You will coordinate equipment, assist the Banquet staff with room setup, and ensure all guest tables and buffet setups meet BEO specifications.

You will schedule staff for events, communicate special instructions to kitchen and serving teams, and monitor food quality and presentation before service. This is a team‑oriented, in‑office role with potential night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Make arrangements for equipment needed for guest functions, ensuring accuracy and completeness prior to staff arrival for room setup.
• Assist the Banquet staff in room setup and ensure all guest tables, buffet tables, and equipment are prepared per BEOs.
• Schedule staff for pre-meal assignments and function stations, and relay any special requests or instructions to the team.
• Inspect food quality and presentation before serving and coordinate with kitchen staff on any changes or instructions.

What you will be doing

• Make arrangements for equipment needed for guest functions, ensuring its accuracy and completeness prior to the staff's arrival for room set up.
• Assist the Banquet staff in room set up. Make sure all guest tables, buffet tables and equipment are set up correctly. Ensure all requests and needs are met, referencing BEO's.
• Schedule staff for pre-meal assignments and function stations. Inform them of any special request or special instructions.
• Inspect food for quality and presentation prior to serving. Keep open communication with the kitchen staff, informing them of any changes or special instructions.

Physical Requirements (In-Office Role)

• Ability to work in a standard office environment.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day)
• Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
• Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach or carry items.
• Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).
• Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
