Qualifications

  • Experience in hotel banquet department is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of banquet PMS systems is preferred.

Job description

The Banquet Captain is responsible for planning and executing all banquet events including meetings, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, receptions and other events. Create a positively memorable dining experience for patrons through exceptional quality and service.

Compensation:
  • $20-$25/hour
Responsibilities:
  • Displays exceptional customer service skills and understands rules of etiquette/flow of service for serving tables.
  • Guide, direct and motivate banquet team by setting performance standards and monitoring performance. Ensure that service team is ready to execute at all times.
  • Plan the sequence of service and execute its completion in a timely, quiet and courteous manner.
  • Assists in the room set up and service of each event. Direct team where needed.
  • Observe event guests and communicate with kitchen team to ensure seamless service.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders with banquet manager prior to meeting/event to ensure accuracy of menus.
  • Keep inventories of equipment and order when necessary.
  • Knowledge of banquet PMS systems and billing features.
  • Assists with all side work duties and ensures that the banquet rooms are clean and organized, ensuring that the following shift is set up for success.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest and proprietary information, protecting company assets.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with LBKC standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs.
  • Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in hotel banquet department is required.
  • Opera and Micros experience is preferred.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing 40 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to stand for durations of shift.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
