Job summary

Miraval Austin Resort and Spa, part-time Banquet Captain position under the Hyatt family, invites individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment. You will oversee banquet activities, coach teammates, and help ensure the event space is visually appealing while presenting the menu offerings.

Responsibilities include leading banquet staff, coordinating setups and timing, and assisting in other F&B outlets as needed. Attractive benefits and flexible scheduling are provided.

Qualifications

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 25 pounds)
• Must have open availability
• Must work well in a team setting
• Experience and a thorough understanding of banquet service.
• 1 year of experience preferred

• Contact with group representatives.
• Coordinate with banquet staff set-ups, changes, and time schedules for all functions.
• Operate as a banquet server when needed, setting- up, greeting and serving the guest and breaking down the function.
• Assist in a leadership role in alternate food & beverage outlets as needed.

Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, the Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing all banquet activities. This includes leading other team members by coaching, giving direction and may include training. They are responsible for making the function space visually appealing and presenting the menu offering for the event. This may include linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Other duties include:

• General banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a sanitary environment.
