Job description

JOB TITLE: Banquet Bartender

REPORTS TO: Banquet Manager

DEPARTMENT: Banquets

LOCATION: Union League Golf Club at Torresdale (3801 Grant Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114)

DESCRIPTION:

To provide excellent service for all events. Set up & breakdown of events in a pre-determined timely manner based on the BEO. Work well with fellow team members to ensure the best service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establishes a warm welcome with a smile and professional atmosphere for guests by following F&B policies & standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  2. Works as part of a team to setup, serve, and breakdown banquet events using correct F&B techniques.
  3. Is competent in executing different banquet functions including meetings, tastings, receptions, and meals.
  4. Has prior bartending experience in making high-end cocktails and keeping a bar clean and organized.
  5. Actively responds to the manager’s requests regarding special guests or last-minute details of an event.
  6. Ensures the room is completely set 30 minutes prior to the start of a function.
  7. Assists in seating guests at their tables.
  8. Provides immediate attention to guest upon seating and remains attentive at each individual station.
  9. Must be in full uniform (including nametags) when clocked in and out.
  10. Takes appropriate food orders at each station.
  11. Refills beverages served with and after the meal.
  12. Uses props & appropriate linens to accent food.
  13. Retrieves props & stores them back appropriately upon completion of use.
  14. Clears soiled glasses, flatware & chinaware in all areas.
  15. Completes all side work assigned at the end of every shift.
  16. Breaks down all soiled flatware, chinaware & glassware into appropriate racks or containers.
  17. Advises supervisor of any member/guest complaints as soon as they occur.
  18. Continually strives to improve skills in executing events.
  19. Wipes & sanitizes all countertops at the end of every shift.
  20. Takes all linens to the appropriate areas in clear plastic bags.
  21. Stocks pantries with supplies as required by the par list.
  22. Performs all other functions as required by management.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  2. Bending and lifting required.
  3. Proven serving experience.
  4. Attention to cleanliness and service details.
  5. Patience and guest-oriented approach.
  6. Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
  7. Responsible and trustworthy.
  8. ServSafe and RAMPS/ TIPS certified.
  9. Flexible schedule, including mandatory holidays.

COMPENSATION:

Fair wages, employee meals, energetic and family team-oriented atmosphere, and 401K retirement plan with employer match of up to 6.
