Overview

The Banquet Bartender will mix and serve drinks to guests in accordance with hotel standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, sanitation, and warm hospitality.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Collect money for drinks.
2. Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase.
3. Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
4. Balance cash receipts.
5. Limit problems related to excessive drinking by persuading customers to stop or arranging transportation for intoxicated patrons.
6. Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and supplies.
7. Serve wine and bottled or draft beer.
8. Take beverage orders from staff or patrons.
9. Clean bars, work areas, and tables.
10. Mix ingredients for cocktails and drinks.
11. Garnish drinks with sliced or pitted fruit.
12. Follow state liquor regulations, especially regarding minors and intoxicated persons.
13. Arrange bottles and glasses attractively.
14. Plan and control bar operations.
15. Order liquors and supplies.
16. Prepare drinks according to recipes.
17. Maintain knowledge of POS and manual systems.

Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
2. Experience as a Bartender or Barback.
3. Minimum age of 21 years.
4. At least 1 year of bartending experience.
5. Certification in TIPS, CARE, or equivalent by first day.
6. Good understanding of English.
7. Strong communication skills.
8. Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
9. Basic arithmetic skills.
10. Knowledge of drink recipes and service standards.
