Diagnostic Imaging at Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix is busy, fast paced, and gives you the opportunity to do what you do best: Providing excellent care for patients. Technologists here use state‑of‑the‑art digital imaging equipment to perform over 350 exams per day. The department supports Diagnostic Imaging services for Inpatients, Outpatients, and patients in the Ortho/Spine Clinic and the Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic.
Position Summary
This position performs prescribed procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures, and protocols. It ensures optimal care and treatment for the patient population.
Core Functions
- Perform procedures by following and verifying referring provider orders, using independent judgment and established protocols.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, demonstrate professional behavior, and foster teamwork for quality outcomes.
- Produce high‑quality images and present them with pertinent patient information for timely interpretation, while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Perform and evaluate equipment quality‑control measurements, troubleshoot, notify appropriate personnel, and maintain a safe environment in accordance with safety policies.
- Demonstrate competence in performing prescribed invasive or interventional procedures when applicable.
- Accountable for ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities, including confidentiality of work information.
- Assure efficient workflow, monitor inventory, and ensure uninterrupted services.
- Work independently with internal stakeholders to provide quality care and support the interdisciplinary health‑care team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- National certification required from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT(R) or ARRT(NM)) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CNMT)).
- State licensure required for AZ, WY, NV; includes Radiography or Nuclear Medicine and CT license prior to hire (not required in Colorado).
- Advanced certification in Computed Tomography required within 18 months of hire from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – ARRT(CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board – NMTCB(CT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
