Position Summary:

Seeking a bankruptcy attorney with 2+ years of experience to join our Delaware, New

Jersey or New York offices and be part of a team working on matters in New Jersey, New

York, Delaware, Maryland, Texas, and Florida. The successful candidate will represent clients in matters related to Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, creditor rights, restructuring, and related litigation. This role involves managing cases from initial consultation through resolution, including court appearances and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent individual and corporate clients in bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 filings.
• Advise clients on options for debt relief, restructuring, workouts, and insolvency matters.
• Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, motions, and other court documents in compliance with federal bankruptcy laws and local court rules.
• Attend and argue at court hearings, creditor meetings (341 meetings), and plan confirmation hearings.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and legal memoranda.
• Manage client relationships with professionalism and discretion, providing strategic guidance throughout the case lifecycle.
• Represent creditors in adversary proceedings and related litigation, including motions for relief from stay, objections to discharge, and preference actions.
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar (additional federal court admissions preferred).
• 3–7 years of experience practicing bankruptcy law in a law firm or equivalent legal setting.
• Deep understanding of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, and relevant state laws.
• Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision.
