Job summary

Academy Bank is offering a Summer Internship Program in Kansas City. Interns will work 8 weeks, Monday–Thursday, with standard banking office hours. The role includes real work in assigned departments, a business research project, and professional development training.

Interns will present findings to senior leadership and may have future full-time opportunities. Interns will gain exposure to Credit and Risk departments, with possible assignments in Data Analytics, Finance, IT, Compliance,

Qualifications

Ties to the Kansas City community post-graduation strongly preferred.
College students entering junior or senior year strongly preferred, 45 completed college credit hours minimum.
Studying Business, Accounting, Finance, Data Science or related discipline, preferred.
Strong communication skills, including verbal and written.
Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to work with team members at all levels.
Independent thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint with BI preferred, Outlook, and Copilot).

Responsibilities

Interns perform real work in assigned department and research a real‑work banking issue.
Interns present findings to senior leadership and participate in a professionalism series.
Interns may work in Credit or Support & Risk departments depending on fit and needs.
Data analytics, finance, IT, compliance, operations, marketing exposure possible.
Develop foundational understanding of banking operations and risk management.
