BANKING AND FINANCE: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit)

Classification Title: BANKING AND FINANCE: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit)

Working Title: Adjunct Faculty

Location: District Wide (applicants must reside within commuting distance to San Diego)

Position Type: Adjunct

FLSA Status: Exempt (no overtime)

Pay: Salary determined by the Adjunct College Salary Schedules. Assignment offers require submission of official sealed transcripts (or foreign degree evaluations if applicable). Initial placement occurs at the first class/step until transcripts are received.

Major Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in lecture and lab courses as assigned.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics at all times.
• Keep current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Be available to students outside of class hours.
• Teach all scheduled classes and maintain accurate records.
• Create an environment that encourages discussion of ideas, interests, and issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Any Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the assignment area; OR
• Any Associate degree and at least six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the assignment area; OR
• The equivalent of either combination.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.

Preferred:

• California Community College Instructor Credential in Banking and Finance (valid for life).
• Foreign degree evaluation from a NACES or ACEI member.

Employment Conditions

Selected candidates must complete the following prior to employment:

• Submit official college transcripts.
• Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Examination.
• Undergo Live Scan fingerprint clearance.
• Present original documents proving U.S. work eligibility.
