At the time that an offer of assignment is made, proper salary placement is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and/or foreign degree evaluations (if applicable). Instructors with advanced coursework shall be placed on the appropriate class and step on the Adjunct College Salary Schedules, effective the first month following receipt of the official transcripts. Initial salary placement will be at the first class/step until official transcripts have been submitted.

Part‑time/temporary faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. These positions are as‑needed, and applicants should live within commuting distance of San Diego. Assignments may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off‑campus classes.

Major Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum and course content in lecture and/or lab classes as assigned.
• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in subject matter areas.
• Fulfill responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Create a learning environment that encourages discussion and engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution AND two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment.
• Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution AND six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment.
• Equivalent qualifications meeting the above requirements.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student populations.

Desired Qualifications

Equivalency: Applicants may submit a Request for Equivalency form if they will receive the required degree before classes begin.

Foreign degrees must have coursework evaluated by an accredited Credential Evaluation Services organization (e.g., NACES or ACEI) and the evaluation must be submitted with the application.

Licenses / Certificates / Credentials

California Community College Instructor Credential in Computer Science or Computer and Related Technologies (valid for life).
